Prospector

1. What is this Prospector?
The Prospector is tool for text analysis that is included with Cognocys IAM™ software.

2. How does it work?
The Prospector uses a prototypical set of LSA (Latent Semantic Analysis) algorithms to analyze text and summarize it using a simple HTML document.

3. Can I see a sample?
Sure. The link below shows typical output from the Prospector, a "prospect" file. This sample was originally created as a one-off using a number of RSS newsfeeds. In response to some requests, it is now updated regularly.

5. How does this relate to IAM?
Effective IAM requires constant analysis of large volumes of text, such as company patents, competitor patents, acquired inventions, agreements (contracts), research publications, and technical disclosure bulletins. This tool allows one to summarize thousands of documents in a simple, off-line document.
On a flight for an M&A discussion? Consider using the Prospector to scan all those contracts in the "not-critical-but-bound-to-be-important-someday" pile.
